Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Tug Master to join our team on the River Thames. Role includes ensuring safe, efficient and compliant towage operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely command and navigate tug vessels.
- Conduct towage operations including ship assist and barge movements.
- Operate under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.
- Promote strong safety culture.
- Lead, mentor and manage crew.
- Ensure vessel maintenance and reporting.
Essential
- Valid Master's Certificate of Competency (STCW).
- Boat master Licence (BML) with towing & pushing endorsement.
- Yacht master Offshore with recognised towing endorsement.
- Local Knowledge Endorsement (Margaretness to Putney).
- Previous tug master or senior towing vessel experience.
- Thames navigation knowledge.
- Excellent ship-handling skills.
- Valid ENG1 or ML5 medical.
- Right to work in the UK.

- Medway PEC PLA PEC B Coastal towage experience.
