Job Purpose

To drive HGV/LGV Econic (low cab) vehicles efficiently and responsibly while maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety, compliance, customer service and care to company assets. To uphold the company's professional reputation by delivering goods and services across HS2 EKFB sites in accordance with contractual obligations, providing a reliable service while ensuring the health and safety of themselves, the public, and other road users.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle safety and condition checks at the start of each shift, accurately recording the vehicle's condition using the Aquarius system and report any defects or identified faults.
  • Care for company assets, ensuring they are used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure effective long-term performance.
  • Ensure the vehicle is loaded and secured safely, with all loads properly restrained, and that the vehicle weight limits remain within legal limits.
  • Follow route and traffic management plans in line with HS2 and site-specific requirements.
  • Drive efficiently and productively while complying with all road traffic laws and regulations.
  • Give due consideration to the health and safety of themselves, the public, and other road users at all times.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times while on the road, at customer sites, and at source locations, and promptly report any issues that may affect the company's reputation or business prospects.
  • Assist with yard operations as required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
  • Complete all reports and documentation accurately and on time to support the effective management of the business.
  • Complete E‑POD applications accurately using both customer and GRS applications.
  • Contribute to the overall wellbeing and profitability of the business through effective performance.
  • Responsible for compliance and discharging legal duties inline with HR policies and Health & Safety requirements, to promote a safe, equitable, and legally compliant workplace.

Job Details

  • £16.00 per hour
  • Day Shift Start time from 5am
  • Monday to Friday (51.25 hours per week)
  • Overtime after 10hrs15mins per day paid at 1.5x hourly rate
  • Saturdays on a rota basis at overtime rate
  • Monthly Pay

Requirements For Role

  • HGV Category C license. (Essential)
  • Drivers CPC Card and Valid Tachograph Card (Essential).
  • Class 1 and 2 drivers welcome to apply with 1 to 2-year experience (Essential).
  • Perficient in mobile App's for routine delivery's (Essential).
  • FORS Silver trained (Desirable).
  • Good knowledge of Driver Working Hour Regulations (Desirable).
  • Experience driving Low Cab Vehicles (Desirable).
  • Full Training provided.
  • Must be happy to work alternate Saturdays on a rota basis (Essential).
