We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and adaptable individual to work alongside our energetic team in the South East region. The role requires a CAN-DO attitude. Job Purpose
To drive sales growth of the GRS Paving product portfolio - including sandstone, porcelain and associated ancillary ranges - within your designated region. The role focuses on developing strong, long-term relationships with builder merchants, understanding their needs, and converting opportunities into increased regional spend and new stockist partnerships. The postholder is responsible for proactive business development, timely customer support and the commercial performance of the territory in line with agreed targets.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with builder merchants across the region through regular, planned face-to-face visits.
- Promote, present and sell the full GRS Paving range – sandstone, porcelain and ancillaries – highlighting value, suitability and commercial advantage to merchant partners.
- Identify merchant needs, review existing supply arrangements, and uncover opportunities for GRS to support growth and become the preferred supplier or stockist.
- Deliver fast, accurate and competitive quotations, ensuring all enquiries receive prompt follow-up to maximise conversion.
- Actively follow up all outstanding quotations, maintaining regular contact with customers to progress opportunities and secure orders.
- Manage challenges or service issues in a timely and professional manner, coordinating with internal teams to ensure resolution and protect customer satisfaction.
- Support merchant partners through trade events, promotional activity, product training sessions and range-familiarisation visits.
- Take financial responsibility for the performance of the region, working to deliver increased spend, new stockists and overall growth in line with agreed budgets and targets.
- Provide regular area updates, visit reports, pipeline information and forecasts to the Sales Manager.
- Work closely with internal teams – including sales coordinators, operations and transport – to ensure a high-quality customer experience and effective communication.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor products, pricing, activity and market trends within the region.
- Ensure all reporting, paperwork and CRM updates are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
- Carry out any additional reasonable duties as requested by the line manager or Director.
- Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and Experience Required to Do the Job
- Must live in the South-East of England and be happy to work on the road as well as occasional overnight stays (Essential).
- External Sales / Field Sales Experience (Essential).
- Builder merchants Experience (Desirable).
- Broad product range knowledge – Paving, Natural Stone, Porcelain, Building materials (Desirable).
