JOB PURPOSE
Our drivers are the face of our business and ambassadors for Maen Karne. We strive to be No.1 for our customers and drivers and to do that we want the very best drivers. We may or may not be the first company you have driven for but once you join us we think you\βll want to stay.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an important role within Maen Karne, with primary responsibility to:
- Full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of loose tipped aggregates to various customer locations across Devon and Cornwall.
- Checking the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and to record its condition using the system provided and to promptly report any faults as they occur.
- Caring for the company\βs vehicle and assets whilst in your charge and ensuring they are used according to manufacturer\βs recommendations and all legal and company requirements.
- Driving as efficiently and productively as possible within the prevailing road and traffic conditions.
- Giving due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
- Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
- Ensuring all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
- Adhering to safe working practices at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Representing the company both on the road and at the customers\β premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times and promptly reporting any issues to your manager or supervisor on the day.
- Support the wider Maen Karne business to deliver its operational plans.
- Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
- Training on site on the day.
- HGV Class 1 License
- Drivers CPC Card.
- Valid Tachograph Card.
