The company is now seeking an experienced Customs Manager to lead its dedicated customs team. This individual will be responsible for managing all customs-related activities across the UK operation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations while continuously improving import processes. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, commercial, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage all customs operations, including import/export documentation and procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with UK customs legislation and international trade regulations.
- Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory authorities, maintaining the organisation’s AEO status.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customs efficiency and reduce associated costs.
- Oversee product classification processes and provide leadership and development to the customs team.
- Monitor customs data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Deliver training and support across departments on customs regulations and procedures.
- Conduct compliance audits and self-assessments, addressing any issues proactively.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless logistics and operational flow across the supply chain.
- A degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a customs management role.
- Experience within the retail sector is highly desirable.
