Summary Description

Responsible for coordinating the efficient, timely, and compliant movement of freight and associated documentation across international borders. This role ensures all customs-related activities are completed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements, while maintaining a high standard of customer service and communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and verify shipment and customs documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit import and export customs entries using appropriate customs software systems.
  • Apply a clear understanding of import and export standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Accurately input and maintain shipment data within operational systems, ensuring all records are up to date and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the timely customs clearance of shipments, identifying and resolving any issues or delays where necessary.
  • Monitor the progress of customs clearances and proactively track shipments to ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates, resolving queries, and managing expectations in a professional manner.
  • Liaise with internal teams, customs authorities, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth processing of shipments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant customs regulations, procedures, and industry changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
