Import Operations Coordinator

The Role

This is an operations-focused role, not a customs specialist position. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping import shipments moving day to day: gathering the right paperwork, quoting customers and agents, raising invoices, and arranging deliveries. They'll know enough about import customs to understand what's needed for a clearance and to speak confidently about it, but won't be relied on as the compliance expert, as that's already covered.

Key Responsibilities

• Gathering and checking the paperwork required for import clearance
• Quoting customers and agents accurately and promptly
• Raising and sending invoices
• Arranging deliveries and coordinating with hauliers
• Liaising with customs teams to keep clearances on track
• Handling day-to-day customer queries by phone, not just email

What We're Looking For

• Solid working knowledge of import customs; someone who knows what documents and information a clearance needs, even if they're not the expert filing it
• Genuinely organised, with a track record of managing multiple shipments without things slipping
• Confident and competent, comfortable making decisions and owning their workload
• Happy picking up the phone to speak with customers, not just emailing them
• 2 to 5 years' experience in a freight forwarding operations role
