Job Title: Freight Quotations Executive
Team: Commercial Desk
Reports to: Office Manager
The Role
Our client is an established freight forwarder looking for a commercially minded quotations professional. You’ll price global freight moves, win new business and make sure every new account gets off to a smooth start. It’s a varied role that blends pricing, customer care and business development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Pricing import and export shipments for customers, overseas partners and internal colleagues, covering a wide range of global trade lanes.
- Building accurate, competitive quotes using rate sheets, or by sourcing rates from carriers and hauliers.
- Sending quotes out with the company’s standard trading conditions attached every time.
- Following up on quotes to gather feedback on pricing and convert enquiries into bookings.
- Onboarding new customers once they book. This includes account paperwork, customs authorisation and a clear operating procedure for their shipments.
- Managing the first shipment closely to build confidence and secure repeat business.
- Handing accounts over to the operations team with full notes on agreed rates, costs and any special requirements.
- Calling prospective customers to generate new business, working towards agreed targets.
