GRS are looking for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our clients growing commercial team, based in Essex. This is a great opportunity for a motivated QS who wants hands-on responsibility, exposure to multiple live projects, and the chance to grow with an expanding business.

The Role

You will be commercially responsible for multiple live projects at any one time, delivering high-quality commercial office fit-out projects across London and the South East. The role will involve a mix of office-based work and regular site visits, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages on live fit-out projects
  • Preparing cost estimates, schedules of rates, and tender documentation
  • Reviewing and analysing M&E subcontractor tenders
  • Cost control, forecasting, and reporting across multiple projects
  • Managing variations and change control
  • Supporting procurement of M&E subcontractors
  • Attending site and progress meetings
  • Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out

  • Commercial office CAT A & CAT B fit outs
  • Shell & core works
  • Temporary installations
  • Strong electrical bias, with mechanical packages also upcoming

About You

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on M&E projects
  • Electrical bias preferred, though mechanical experience is also welcomed
  • Background in commercial fit-out or refurbishment is highly desirable
  • Organised, commercially aware, and confident managing multiple projects
  • Ideally suited to someone early to mid-career looking to progress and grow within a business
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
