We are looking for a Volunteer Director to join our board and help expand and extend the reach of our equine based youth project.

What difference will you make? As a Volunteer Director, your input will directly influence how many people we reach and the quality of support we provide. You’ll help guide a small, passionate organisation delivering real, visible impact in the community. This is a chance to use your skills for purpose, be part of something meaningful, and see the difference you make in people’s lives because for many of our participants, this is where their lives start to change.

What are we looking for? You’ll bring a mix of professional skills and personal values, with a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Whether your background is in education, mental health, business, safeguarding, finance, or community work, what matters most is your ability to think strategically, ask the right questions, and support the direction of the organisation.

Experience with funding – whether through bid writing, securing grants, fundraising, or building partnerships – is particularly valuable, helping us grow our reach and sustain our impact. We value lived experience, whether that’s overcoming personal challenges, supporting others, or understanding the barriers faced by the communities we serve. This insight helps shape compassionate, inclusive decisions at board level.

  • Passionate about social impact and community change
  • Collaborative, supportive, and willing to contribute your voice
  • Able to balance empathy with good judgement and governance
  • Confident contributing to funding discussions, opportunities, or strategy
  • Motivated by purpose, not just process

In return, you’ll be part of a values-led team where your contribution is valued, your perspective matters, and you can see the real-world difference your involvement makes.

Position is remote.

What will you be doing? We currently have 2 directors and we are looking for a third to support our funding bids, input into our strategic direction and accelerate our impact. Our aim is to expand our provision and to be able to increase the number of places we are able to offer. To do this we need to increase the number of staff we have, improve our facilities and secure funding. This role is a critical enabler in moving the CIC forward and really making a difference to the young people in our community.
