Role Description
The Director role at Grow Spec is a full-time, on‑site position based in Manchester.
The Director will oversee strategic planning, operational performance, and commercial growth, ensuring alignment between product innovation, market needs, and financial goals.
Daily responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, setting and monitoring KPIs, managing budgets, and guiding key projects from concept through implementation.
The Director will build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers, represent Grow Spec at industry events, and support business development activities.
This role also involves mentoring managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and people management skills, including experience directing cross‑functional teams and developing high‑performing staff.
- Strong strategic planning, business development, and commercial acumen, with a track record of driving growth in technology, agritech, or related sectors.
- Operational management experience, including budgeting, resource planning, performance measurement, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with agritech, controlled‑environment agriculture, or advanced planting technologies is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Comfort with data‑driven decision‑making and the use of metrics to guide strategy and operational improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Ability to work on‑site in Manchester and travel as needed for client meetings, supplier visits, and industry events.
