Our Martock based garden centre and nursery are seeking two Dispatch Team Leaders to help run the department. This department is in charge of the distribution of £3 million worth of home grown garden plants to our stores in Devon and Somerset plus other retail stock. This role will be to lead our team with weekly picking of orders. You will be fully trained in the role and be one of several supervisors learning how to run the nursery as part of a much larger management team.
Our company operates five nurseries in Devon and Somerset and employs 100 staff. We can offer superb career options and have a track record in promoting from within to senior roles as we continue to expand. We are only seeking full time permanent employees to join us at this exciting time - minimum 30 to 50 hours per week needed. You need to be flexible to work weekdays and weekends on a 5 days out of 7 rota. If you can’t offer weekend working then please don’t apply.
We pay higher hourly rates of pay for bright hardworking employees looking to progress in a horticultural career / retail garden centre career. We can offer great options on fast promotion and increased rates of pay for applicants who want to succeed. All applicants will need reliable transport / lift to work as public transport is limited.
All our nursery and retail work requires physical lifting and carrying all day - working on your feet during the day / serving customers and being active. The work suits people who enjoy being fit and healthy and mobile. Working hours are based on approx 7am / 8am start to 4pm / 6pm finish but hours may vary with time of year and needs of the business.
Holiday is up to 28 days per year paid on a pro rata basis subject to hours worked. The role is fairly physical and requires lifting / carrying and can be both indoor and outdoor. The job would suit those who enjoy work that helps keep you fit and healthy and mobile.
For career minded people we can offer training and progression with salaries of £30k to £40k plus and we are always actively seeking hardworking bright people who want to build a solid horticultural / retail career with our company.
