Our Plymouth store is recruiting an Assistant store Manager/ payment area supervisor to join its dedicated and experienced management team. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working individuals who can manage and control the payments area while following our policies and procedures.

Responsible For:

  • Retail store administration and payment area management – fully trained and confident to deal with all daily retail store administration issues in relation to the operation of our massive retail garden plant supermarket including HR, head office liaison, policies, and procedures.
  • Training to supervise payment area staff, garden sundries merchandising and re-ordering, and garden plant merchandising and re-ordering.
  • Training and developing the payment area team.

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants would be subject to 6 months training to include all retail store responsibilities.
  • This role is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring you to be on your feet all day and handle heavy lifting. A good level of physical fitness and a passion for active work are essential.
  • Regular weekends and bank holidays are required to meet business needs, so please do not apply if you can't work weekends.
  • We can offer rates of pay well above the industry average following completion of a successful trial period, a long-term career in retail as well as plenty of opportunities to advance into retail management.
  • The starting rate of this role is between £14 and £17 which is equivalent to between £29,000–£35,000 per year.
  • Holiday is pro rata based on days worked – approx. 28 days per year.
