Plants Galore is a well-established Garden Centre and Grower in the South West of England with a team of 7 running the company from its Head Office. We are actively recruiting new team members to help the senior managers run the most successful horticultural nurseries in Devon and Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to progress in their career and is willing to learn multiple aspects of our successful business.

The role includes the following duties:

  • Sourcing and purchasing company sundries
  • Printing and distributing point of sale signs for the retail stores
  • Management of our company tasks, chasing and organising managers
  • Assisting the Plant and International buyers

There is more specialised work available for the right candidates with experience or ability to learn. This is a varied role that will allow you to gain experience in many departments and would suit an individual who is keen to progress in an administration role. Experience isn’t required but strong computer skills are essential for this role. Applicants also need attention to detail and excellent time management skills to ensure that all deadlines are met and that their days are organised.

This role is designed to support the business and office managers while providing sickness and holiday cover where appropriate. With the company planning to continue expansion further, this role has plenty of opportunity for growth.

Specific Skills:

  • Highly organised

  • Very good IT skills / computer experience with very good knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Word documents
  • Good levels of English – both spoken and written
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to time manage and prioritise

The role would require applicants to work Monday to Friday. Shop floor work over peak times would be very much appreciated but not essential to the role. We can offer £15 to £17 per hour with flexibility to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week – exact working hours to be agreed. This equates to £31,000 to £35,000 per year. Holiday is pro rata based on hours worked – approx. 28 days.

The role will be supported by full on-site training by our experienced head office team. This is an immediate start position that would suit someone who can join our successful team within a short period and take advantage of full training in all aspects of the role. We carry out regular performance reviews and can offer very competitive pay rates in line with your progression. We run a successful profit share for team members who are fully committed to the company, this is not offered to every member of staff but is instead an incentive for those employees who are making a substantial difference to the company.
