Job Introduction: As an Assistant Cook, you’ll be assisting with the preparation and delivery of a healthy, delicious and exciting menu for our students and staff, using our fresh ingredients. The role requires initiative, creativity and keen attention to detail to make every school mealtime genuinely interesting and special.

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will be the culinary artist who ensures Miquill's food philosophy shines through in every service.
  • Use our carefully selected recipes to bring our nutritious menus to life, ensuring excellent taste and presentation.
  • Guarantee the highest standards of Food Hygiene, Allergen and Health and Safety compliance.
  • Work with the team to create a fun, friendly and delicious dining experience for students and staff, in line with company standards.
  • The production of hospitality and special catering requests, as needed by our clients.
  • Providing outstanding support to your team and demonstrating a positive role model.
  • Build positive relationships with clients and customers.

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual who shares our passion for serving great-tasting food and providing excellent service. If you are ready to maintain the highest standards while injecting creativity into your work, you'll need:

  • Solid, hands-on experience using fresh ingredients, preferably within an education or high-volume catering setting.
  • A Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (further training and development will be available).
  • Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a professional kitchen environment.
  • High self-motivation, creativity, and the ability to use your initiative to solve problems and make improvements on the fly.
