We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to work within our well-established 24-hour Hospital based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Your average day will include a variety of nursing duties as well as assisting with clinical coaching within the practice. you will be supported by a wonderful and experienced nursing team, of whom many have finished or are carrying out certificates such as in anaesthesia and analgesia or medical and surgical nursing.

We have great diagnostic equipment at the hospital including, CT scanner, multiparameters, k laser, endoscope and a laparoscopic kit. We also have a wide range of lab equipment including an Imagyst,

We are offering full time of 40 hours per week which includes a 1 in 6 full weekend rota, a bank holiday shift every 18 months and on call 1-2 weeks per year.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
