We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join our Leeds practice. This role would be perfect for someone looking to progress into a student veterinary nurse position in the next few years; however, this is not essential. Our practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned and purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities.
You will be working alongside vets, vet nurses, other VCAs, and our reception team, carrying out a wide range of tasks. We are looking for a team player who is willing to get stuck in, work hard, and is keen to learn. We will provide training and support to get you going, and you will quickly become an integral member of the team.
Your tasks will include:
- Keeping the clinic clean, tidy, and organised
- Feeding and monitoring in-patients
- Running clinical tests
- Managing stock
- Handling a variety of small animals
- Helping set up for operations
- Deep cleaning all areas
- Speaking to clients on the phone and in person
Good verbal communication skills and basic computer literacy are essential. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week and will include some Saturday shifts.
