Grove Automation have an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer to join our team. Our team designs, builds and delivers automation projects across a range of sectors, efficiently and successfully. We are a market leader in Controls and Automation Solutions.

Your role and what you'll be doing: In this role you will work on projects in Warehousing, Airport baggage, Automotive, and Process Controls environments. You will be involved from the early stages of projects with input to tenders and by writing Functional Design Specifications. You will follow this through software build, in-house testing with Emulation (FAT), on-site commissioning, handover (SAT) and go-live support - all with the support of our engineering team. As a Controls Engineer you will deliver technical solutions that meet the customers' needs, compliant with industry standards. Your week will be a combination of site visits and office collaboration. You will be working with PLCs/ HMIs/ Drives/ Robots. You will already have experience and be competent working on low voltage control systems from either installations/ modifications/ fault finding, experience of software build from scratch/ library, on-site commissioning and customer witness testing.

Your responsibilities:

  • Preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders for Control Systems projects
  • Ensure Grove standards are followed and maintained
  • Software build/ development and emulation testing
  • Deliver on-site commissioning through to on-going support stages
  • Represent Grove in a professional manner
  • Be compliant to Health and Safety Standards

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant Engineering qualification/apprenticeship
  • A minimum of 3 years practical experience in control engineering or electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of industrial networks PLC / HMI/ Drives configuration, testing and commissioning
  • Conveyor systems experience

Essentials:

  • Must be able to work within the UK without a sponsorship requirement
  • Hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel and work away from home
  • Highly motivated and disciplined
