The Role

We’re looking for an experienced HR Expert specialising in Employee Relations to join our UK team. This is a key role focused on delivering fair, compliant, and commercially sound people solutions. You will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across the UK and support the wider EMEA HR team on cross-border ER topics. Your expertise will be central to shaping a performance-driven and values-led culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence, etc.) ensuring compliance with UK employment law and Groupon’s internal policies.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers to build capability in handling people matters confidently and consistently.
  • Ensure managers are upskilled and empowered to manage day-to-day people practices and challenges effectively.
  • Support restructuring and organisational change initiatives, including redundancy processes and TUPE (if applicable).
  • Monitor ER trends and risk areas, advising the business and People leadership team proactively.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and other departments to ensure consistency in policy application and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of ER policies, procedures, and training.
  • Support investigations and documentation related to employee complaints and whistleblowing matters.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional HR projects and support broader HR operations as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record (5+ years) of hands-on experience in UK-based employee relations, ideally within a fast-paced, global or matrix environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Commercially aware and pragmatic approach to resolving ER issues.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, handle sensitive issues with discretion, and balance risk with business needs.
  • Experience managing change and supporting leaders through complex people matters.
  • A proactive, calm, and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Ideally CIPD qualified or equivalent.
