The Role
We have a unique opportunity to raise the bar for SEO across HSBC/Cartier and some of the biggest brands on the planet eager to showcase their supremacy online. As the SEO Account Director, you’ll be driving the delivery of the SEO strategy with the support of a group of search specialists. You will be partnering with brands to ensure they have a clear strategy in place to maximize the organic opportunity available, which will include working with brands at varied stages of digital maturity. You will be nurturing a supporting team of SEO specialists who will be practically involved at every level, crawling sites, assessing data and developing solutions to achieve SEO success. You will be responsible for ensuring the standard of delivery is consistent across geographies. You will be assisting with the education of the wider Local Market teams on your approach to ensure the same principles ring true across the region, driving SEO excellence further still.
Responsibilities
- Develop organic search strategies at a zone level to maximise the SEO performance. These strategies then need to be adapted and rolled out for specific business units.
- Effective, positive management of a few direct reports and supporting a wider team of SEO specialists.
- Build up a constructive, positive rapport with senior client contacts and third-party enablers like content agencies and development teams.
- A confident presenter with the ability to take what can often be quite complicated SEO concepts and distilling them down into key actions and outcomes for relevant stakeholders.
- Commitment to driving initiatives focused on driving share of voice and positive consumer experiences on-site.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Experience devising SEO strategies, implementing them and charting subsequent improved business performance.
- Beneficial to have experience working with businesses with multiple business units and an understanding of the complexity of how those businesses overlap from a search perspective.
- Experience on driving the delivery of SEO strategies which span multiple markets, either within Europe, or globally.
- Strong knowledge across all areas of SEO from technical to content and digital PR.
- Ability to demystify SEO to ensure clients and the wider team understand what actions are required to achieve compelling results.
- An ability to craft and deliver compelling stories.
- Line management experience of a couple of direct reports.
- A track record of supporting the development of these direct reports both in terms of SEO knowledge and broader skills.
- Experience with Holistic search and the relationship between SEO and PPC is beneficial.
- Experience with a wide range of SEO tools e.g. BrightEdge.
- Experience using PowerPoint and delivering presentations to more senior stakeholders.
- A highly organized and disciplined individual who has a history of leading projects to delivery on time and to standard.

- Able to communicate effectively, and work as part of a team.
- Experience using basic features of PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel (e.g. Creating and formatting presentations, sorting and filtering data, creating graphs and tables).
Desirable Criteria
- Any programming or coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Python) would be beneficial.
- Experience using CMSs such as AEM, Drupal, Shopify.
- Understanding of project management principles.
