8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Hybrid - Aylesford, Kent (3 days onsite per week)

As a Product Developer, you will be responsible for creating and optimising beverage formulations for clients across a range of categories, including soft drinks, functional beverages, energy drinks, dairy alternatives and nutritional products. In this role, you will also support the development of ready-to-mix sports nutrition products, including pre‑, intra- and post‑workout powders, and functional powders as part of the wider innovation team.

What to expect?

  • Develop and deliver new beverage and nutrition products from concept through to commercialisation
  • Create and optimise formulations, prototypes, and lab trials, focusing on flavour, functionality, stability, and cost
  • Manage multiple client projects, ensuring timelines, feasibility, and delivery are met
  • Collaborate with customers, internal teams, suppliers, and third‑party partners to support development and launch
  • Ensure formulations meet regulatory, nutritional, and quality requirements
  • Support scale‑up, pilot trials, production runs, and troubleshooting activities
  • Provide technical expertise and maintain accurate documentation and product specifications
  • Identify and apply industry trends to drive innovation and generate new product concepts
  • Support customer presentations, innovation sessions, and business development activities
  • Work cross‑functionally to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement

Does this sound like you?

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Product Development, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in beverage formulation and product development, ideally with functional and sports nutrition focused drinks.
  • Experience working with external beverage manufacturers or co‑packers.
  • Strong understanding of beverage ingredients, functionality, and processing.
  • Knowledge of functional ingredients, flavour systems, sweeteners, and beverage stabilisation.
  • Knowledge of UK food regulations and labelling requirements.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
