As a maintenance technician, you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to relevant current legislation/regulations, health and safety, maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

What to expect?
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine site inspections
- Respond to and prioritise reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Support production activities and ensure minimal downtime
- Participate in an emergency call‑out rota and respond to out‑of‑hours incidents as required
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and handovers across shifts
- Deputise for the Engineering Lead during absences and report accordingly
- Liaise with contractors and visitors, including site chaperoning
- Carry out installations and equipment modifications in line with legislation, food safety, and hygiene standards
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across work areas, workshops, and stores
- Monitor spare parts stock and communicate requirements to management
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Attend daily meetings and communicate actions or issues to the Engineering Lead and Production Managers
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Engineering Lead or Senior Management
Does this sound like you?
Applicants should either have a strong academic track record in process engineering related discipline, or be a time served maintenance technician with process control experience in a manufacturing environment. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, Manufacturing or related Engineering discipline, or a time served Maintenance Technician with suitable experience in a production environment. At least five years’ experience in ideally a food manufacturing environment. A proven track record in production technical processes, continuous improvement / OEE. Confidence in all areas of MS Office. Experience with operating a CMMS System. IOSHH – would be an advantage. Legionella – would be an advantage. Experience of PLCs, variable speed drives and fault-finding would be an advantage.
