THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled RF System Test Engineer to design, integration, validation, and lifecycle support of RF and microwave test systems used in complex engineering programmes. The role spans system-level design through to operational support, working closely with project, RF, and test operations teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, integrate, validate, and document RF and microwave test system solutions, including associated test and control hardware
- Develop complete test solutions covering system design, hardware integration, software interaction, and validation activities
- Ensure all solutions are delivered in compliance with defined quality processes and engineering standards
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, supporting formal design and project reviews
- Liaise with the Project Responsible Engineer to support successful milestone reviews and programme delivery
- Provide ongoing technical support during the operational phase, in collaboration with Test Operations
- Respond to test hardware-related occurrence reports and non-conformance issues, providing technical input and resolution
- Contribute to weekly and monthly project and departmental reporting
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- RF and microwave system design
- Microwave theory
- RF test equipment, including Network Analysers and Spectrum Analysers
- System build and integration
- Validation and verification
- Software interaction within test systems
- Test solution documentation and formal review processes
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Background in aerospace or defence hardware testing
- Degree in Electrical, RF or Electronic Engineering
