Job Overview
As BIW Process Engineers you will be joining a growing division of Segula. This offers a large potential for personal growth within a consultancy that works with multiple customers and sectors. You will be responsible for development, introduction and launch of all new/modified processes & facilities associated with new vehicle model introductions and model year changes, within the battery frame lines.
Responsibilities
- Utilise your knowledge to plan, develop and implement BIW assembly processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality, timing and cost objectives.
- Provide feasibility statements for product development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements.
- Ensure robust process quality planning, including virtual build simulations and PFMEAs.
- Support physical builds at workshop, pilot build and manufacturing plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
- Evaluate the suitability of manufacturing technologies for a wide range of applications – including joining technologies, transfer systems, logistics, etc.
- Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier “Request for Quotations.”
- Verify assembly processes and equipment at suppliers and at the home manufacturing facility.
- Support problem‑solving on complex issues to achieve KPIs.
- Support management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans.
- Ensure adherence to company and departmental operating processes and policies.
- Manage technical issues, offering guidance to the team and escalating where appropriate.
- Achieve equipment capability targets of all new and modified facilities.
