We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding Engineer to support a large-scale oil & gas project during engineering, procurement, and construction phases. The role focuses on overseeing welding-related activities performed by contractors and suppliers, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with project quality requirements. The position acts as the main point of contact for welding matters within the project team.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and coordinating contractor deliverables
- Supporting the resolution of technical and quality issues
- Monitoring progress
- Working closely with quality, construction, and engineering teams
- Contributing to inspections, audits, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, practical field experience, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and ensure strong HSE practices across all welding activities
- Oversee contractor and supplier welding activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Act as focal point for welding-related coordination and communication
- Review welding-related deliverables for quality and compliance with project requirements
- Support resolution of technical, quality, and execution issues
- Monitor progress and identify risks or improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with other disciplines to support integrated project delivery
- Contribute to inspections, audits, and project close-out activities
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas or large industrial projects
- At least 10 years in a senior or lead Welding Engineer role
- Experience working with international EPC contractors is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Recognised welding engineering qualification is required
- Fluency in English
