Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical solutions to business needs following best practices and standards.
  • Drive change and promote strategic, long-term solutions.
  • Show urgency on business issues and manage expectations.
  • Main developments include:
  • Pricing tools for commodities (energy, metals, carbon emissions, indexes, gas)
  • Market data (real-time contribution, end of day) for these assets
  • Risk reporting (strike maps, scenario analysis)
  • Reporting for support functions (deal valuation, market data)
  • Support and maintain all developments within an agile framework.
  • Develop software applications by following the in-house proximity development lifecycle: gathering user needs, analyzing requirements, proposing solutions, implementing, supporting, and documenting.
  • Make recommendations on architecture, technologies, and IT solutions.
  • Analyze, solve problems, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Follow standard software development procedures and cooperate with relevant teams.
  • Conduct training and skills assessments regularly.
  • Propose new projects, lead development topics, and explore innovative solutions, new business activities, efficiency improvements, and operational risk reduction.
  • Provide timely updates to management on progress.
  • As Team Leader, ensure support during trading hours, manage on-call support for the US desk, and maintain system stability to mitigate operational risks and outages.
  • Profile and required skills:

    • Business experience in:
    • Development & maintenance of IT systems
    • Financial markets and derivatives understanding
    • Exposure to front-office commodities trading (preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years' experience, including 2-3 years as a Team Lead
  • Technical skills (minimum 5 years):
    • .NET C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, WPF
    • Microservices
    • Angular / AngularJS
    • Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB
    • Visual Studio, RMDS, Bloomberg API, Reuters EIKON, JetBrain Rider
  • Personal skills:
    • Strong interest in global markets
    • Fast learner and proactive
  • Additional skills:
    • Experience with Agile methodologies, Sprints, Kanban, DevOps
    • Experience liaising with senior management and front-office users
    • Good communication skills (business and technical)
