Account Manager
Location: The Olive House Standard Way Business Park, 30 Standard Way, Northallerton, DL6, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Manage a range of Food & Nutrition key customers and business‑critical accounts for the UK.
- Understand and consistently review the relevant markets, recognising new commercial opportunities in the UK.
- Quickly establish an in‑depth knowledge of the sector, oils in the product range.
- Proactively ensure growth by identifying new selling opportunities through range selling and telephone business reviews.
- Maximise divisional profit margins utilising relationships with Commercial leads, Commercial team and Procurement.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, ensuring they are well‑briefed with market information.
- Exceed sales targets, maximise margin and achieve agreed KPIs.
- Participate in all sales meetings – and development learning sessions to maximise success.
- Actively support Key Account Manager and National Account Manager where necessary.
- Ensure optimisation of all resources available to the sales force in the Division.
- Develop strong working relationships with Finance, Operations and Technical Divisions across the wider business.
- Prepare and communicate for monthly sales meetings and complete S&OP for Finance.
- Ensure a high level of service is maintained at all times and respond to all enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure cooperation with the Customer Service team on issue resolution for all customers.
- Comply with all relevant operational, audit and trading guidelines.
- Understand and assist in the implementation of the strategy for the F&N Oils Division.
- Work with Head of Commercial to understand the credit risk inherent in the customer portfolio.
- Work in a culture that encourages ethical conduct, open communication and commitment to compliance consistent with Our values of Respect, Boldness and Performance.
- Promptly communicate to Manager and assist in investigating all relevant complaints, possible violations or irregularities, taking appropriate action where necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong and proven track record of delivering commercial performance through sales or other sales functions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and distribution chain activities.
- Action‑oriented and able to deal with multiple relationships effectively.
- Creative thinker able to challenge established ways of doing things.
- Excellent networking, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Understanding of the regulated environment and compliance needs.
- Enthusiasm to grow and progress in a new environment and to take on new challenges daily – with the full support of the commercial team.
