We are delighted to be working with a NHS Trust in North London to find an interim part-time Project Manager to advance the key fire safety remediation projects on site.
This role is crucial for advancing key fire safety remediation projects at the north London based Hospital. The position is integral to their ongoing efforts to address significant fire safety deficiencies in some areas and encompassing other buildings on site ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing patient, staff, and public safety.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct management and delivery of two critical projects:
1.Dry Riser Installation:This project involves the installation of four dry risers in various buildings across the hospital site. The project involves finalising the design and installation works of the dry riser including associated structural surveys and builders works, including any required building control/planning approvals required. This project is essential to ensure compliant dry risers/fire mains and appropriate hose distances across the relevant blocks. Anticipated project value c£250k.
2.Protected Lift Lobbies for Evacuation Lifts:This project encompasses the design and installation of protected lift lobbies, specifically for evacuation lifts. The project involves finalising the design and installation works of the protected lift lobbies including associated surveys and builders works, including any required building control/planning approvals required. This initiative is a vital component of the Trust\’s improved evacuation infrastructure including protected lift lobbies and evacuation lift upgrades and aims to achieve the necessary 120-minute fire resistance for these areas. Anticipated project value is c£350k.
Role Requirements:
Working Pattern:The role is anticipated to require 2 days per week.
On-site Management:A minimum of one day per week must be spent on site, directly managing project delivery and engaging with stakeholders.
Project Completion:All projects must be completed by the end of this financial year. (March 31, 2026)
We are looking for an experienced project manager with suitable qualifications and extensive fire-related experience, particularly within healthcare or complex live building environments, and a strong understanding of relevant British Standards and Health Technical Memoranda (HTM).
This role is required immediately and will be for a minimum of 6 months contract.
