We are delighted to be working with a small consultancy completing work at the Whittington Hospital, near Archway. They are looking for an experienced, strategic, infrastructure project lead to help manage a number of critical upgrades at the site. This would be completed on a 3-4 working day week and be flexible on on-site requirements, though being on site 2 days a week would be desirable.
Scope
As the Project's Strategic Lead, you will establish a general vision from the outset and support all members in working towards a broadly defined direction, ensuring comprehensive project execution rather than just fulfilling a single objective.
The key objectives include:
- Leadership & Strategic Management
- Provide leadership and stewardship for the day-to-day management of all aspects of Project.
- Develop and maintain the Project Initiation Document (PID).
- Conduct a root-and-branch review of the project's current status and previous milestones.
- Assess team competence and propose an optimal structure for project delivery.
- Engage stakeholders with strategic updates and align progress with project goals.
- Establish robust governance in line with policies and HTMs.
- Enhance project management structures to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Develop and implement a governance model that aligns with the requirements of the senior leadership team.
- Ensure integration with existing critical infrastructure projects.
- Foster a solution-driven approach to meeting project milestones.
- Work alongside fire AP and AE to develop and integrate compliant fire strategy governance.
- Define and adjust project goals as needed, consulting team leaders and stakeholders.
- Align design solutions with Net Zero standards and future sustainability goals.
- Oversee risk register reviews and updates.
- Engage with trust procurement teams and governance committees as needed.
- Liaise with contractors and the project team to deliver project across multiple years.
- Facilitate discussions with internal sub-design groups to identify optimal solutions.
- Represent the project at governance committees, such as estates safety and risk management groups.
- Engage with AEs for formal document sign-off and review contractor submissions.
- Communicate with the Program Director regarding key project concerns and updates.
- Oversee commissioning and handover strategy alignment with the build program.
- Assist in obtaining necessary consents and approvals.
- Support the Trust in identifying post-completion specialist support needs.
- Coordinate training and familiarization sessions for project stakeholders.
- Ensure technical submissions, RFIs, and contractor communications are properly handled.
- Arrange final inspections, witnessing, and engagement with relevant Trust representatives.
- Chair key meetings and provide regular updates to the Head of Projects.
