We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join a growing project delivery team based in Glasgow. This is a high-impact, commercially focused planning and project control's role supporting the successful delivery of complex construction programmes in Glasgow and Dundee.
The successful candidate will be a strong analytical planner with deep expertise in Primavera P6, capable of interrogating project data, challenging assumptions, and driving accountability across site and project teams. This is not a passive reporting role; we are looking for someone who can act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, push back where required, and proactively identify, manage, and mitigate programme risk. Industry experience within utilities, industrial, manufacturing, storage, factory, or heavy infrastructure environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed integrated project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Analyse programme performance, critical path activities, progress trends, and project data to support informed decision-making.
- Interrogate project information to identify schedule issues, dependencies, constraints, and delivery risks.
- Challenge and influence Project Managers and site teams to ensure realistic, achievable, and robust project plans.
- Lead planning and project controls activities across multiple workstreams or complex projects.
- Produce accurate reporting, forecasting, progress analysis, and schedule recovery plans.
- Identify, integrate, and mitigate programme and delivery risks through proactive planning strategies.
- Ensure programme governance, controls, and reporting standards are maintained.
- Work collaboratively with operational, commercial, and engineering teams to drive project performance and delivery outcomes.
- Proven experience in a Senior Project Planner / Project Controls / Planning Controller role within construction or industrial project environments.
- Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 (essential).
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to interrogate large data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge, influence, and push back constructively with Project Managers and delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis, earned value, risk management, and programme reporting.
- Experience in utilities, industrial, manufacturing, storage, factory, or similar complex delivery sectors preferred.
- Highly organised, commercially aware, and delivery focused.
