Role Description: The Regulatory Affairs function enables our and our clients’ products to be freely sold globally and is an integral part of Group55's Product Stewardship. The role ensures our products are developed and remain in compliance with all relevant Product Regulations and any other applicable regulations with our and our customers' chosen markets regarding safety, performance and labelling. They will focus on enabling efficient regulatory control for the specific markets/customers as well as providing support to the senior leadership team in identifying relevant changes in regulations concerning the finished product, chemicals/ingredients, packaging and digital transformation. This is a pivotal role within Group55 to ensure continued improvement of processes and team development enabling the delivery of results against the company goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and resolve a broad range of regulatory queries from competent authorities, customers, distributors, and business partners across multiple markets.
  • Lead the development and implementation of regulatory procedures, policies, training programmes, and work instructions to support organisational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regulatory expertise and ensure compliance for a diverse product portfolio, including Personal Care products (fragrances, sun care, and alcohol-based products), Household products, Home Care products, and Pet Care products.
  • Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments through engagement with industry bodies, including the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA), and assess the potential impact on existing and future product portfolios.
  • Compile and maintain Product Information Files (PIFs) and coordinate product safety assessments to support market authorisation and compliance obligations.
  • Manage relationships with external testing laboratories, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure product compliance and timely completion of required testing and assessments.
  • Obtain and review Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs), technical dossiers, and other regulatory documentation necessary to support product compliance and market access.
  • Partner with Commercial, Brand, Product Development, Quality, Supply Chain, and Innovation teams to support product launches, customer requirements, and business expansion plans while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date regulatory documentation, records, and compliance databases in line with internal and external requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory databases, including the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), to identify changes to ingredient classifications, CLP requirements, and other regulatory updates that may impact products and formulations.
  • Analyse and communicate regulatory developments, ingredient restrictions, labelling requirements, and compliance risks to senior leadership, providing clear recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Represent the organisation at industry seminars, workshops, trade associations, and stakeholder forums to influence discussions, anticipate regulatory changes, and mitigation.

Qualifications:

  • Possesses minimum 5 years of experience in Regulatory, Safety, Toxicology, Product Development.
  • Demonstrates track record of applying Cosmetic Product Regulations, CLP, REACH restrictions in the new product launches and across existing portfolio of cosmetic products, Pet care, home care products & medical devices.
  • Demonstrates track record of successful engagements with authorities across the UK and EU, resolving complex queries or investigations across multiple product categories. Experience from any other is highly desired.
  • Proven ability to apply judgment and risk assessment approach when implementing new regulatory obligations, policies and industry standards.
  • Desired experience of working with stakeholders across various levels of seniority.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing successful teams.
  • Experience within a global, multi-category organisation will be an advantage.
  • Experience in successful engagement across Trade Associations or stakeholders’ groups.
