We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our expanding Craven Fawcett team.

MAIN FUNCTION & SCOPE OF JOB

We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our expanding Craven Fawcett team.

MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

The purpose of the role is to successfully run CNC/Manual machines within a heavy engineering environment.

  • Ensure machining operations and processes are effectively carried out by the approved manufacturing route and quality standards
  • Actively pursue continuous improvements in assembly methods and techniques and make recommendations for implementation when appropriate.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment is adequately maintained and regularly checked for lubrication
  • Take care of measuring equipment and report on any defective, or out-of-calibration items
  • Ensure all lifting and transportation equipment is used appropriately

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained mechanical engineer (E)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to use manual measuring equipment (E)
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances (E)
  • Knowledge of CNC programming (E)

Experience

  • Experience working with a horizontal machining centre and Fanuc control (E)
  • Experience of working with Heidenhain controls (D)
  • Experience of working within the heavy engineering industry (D)

  • Self-motivated/enthusiastic with the ability to solve problems as they arise
  • Ability to work using own initiative and under pressure – ask for help when required
  • Ensure your highest quality is always achieved when undertaking tasks
