MAIN FUNCTION & SCOPE OF JOB
We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our expanding Craven Fawcett team.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
The purpose of the role is to successfully run CNC/Manual machines within a heavy engineering environment.
- Ensure machining operations and processes are effectively carried out by the approved manufacturing route and quality standards
- Actively pursue continuous improvements in assembly methods and techniques and make recommendations for implementation when appropriate.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is adequately maintained and regularly checked for lubrication
- Take care of measuring equipment and report on any defective, or out-of-calibration items
- Ensure all lifting and transportation equipment is used appropriately
Qualifications
- Apprentice trained mechanical engineer (E)
Skills & Knowledge
- Ability to use manual measuring equipment (E)
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances (E)
- Knowledge of CNC programming (E)
Experience
- Experience working with a horizontal machining centre and Fanuc control (E)
- Experience of working with Heidenhain controls (D)
- Experience of working within the heavy engineering industry (D)

- Ability to work using own initiative and under pressure – ask for help when required
