The Role:
We require a Fit-out Estimator to join the Commercial team to aid in our continued expansion. The right candidate needs to be driven, self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative when under pressure whilst also being a positive collaborator within a tight team. Experience in Principal Contracting estimating is a necessity and a good understanding of M&E services. The candidate will be required to attend external site visits with our Clients, Suppliers & Subcontractors and reflect a positive professional image as well as the confidence to clarify bids with our clients.
The candidate will have a proven Fit Out background and/or estimating experience, good technical and analytical skills, excellent computer skills, understand clear timelines and be able to meet targets efficiently for the department. The candidate will be working alongside the Estimating team and will be responsible for creating compliant quotations from supplied Tender Documents. On successful conversion of quotations, the estimator will be required to produce a handover to the Contracts Team, attend Preconstruction meetings and negotiate supplier/subcontractor quotes to attain best value.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to Interoperate, and define Client briefs from site visits to produce detailed estimates.
- Liaise with internal and external services teams and coordinate fully inclusive estimates.
- Establish new tender opportunities by understanding job specifications and drawings.
- Accurately calculate take-offs from drawings including materials and hours.
- Production of any tender/preconstruction programmes and a scope and clarifications for all works.
- Attend site/tender walkthroughs to cross reference drawings to identify proactive solutions and avoid potential site interferences where required.
- Understanding of the planning and sequencing of construction of projects.
- Communication with client to clarify unclear specifications/wording through RFI's.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing used for bid submission.
- Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-over and project close out meetings as needed.
Requirements:
- Fit out contracting background.
- Experience in estimating and quoting.
- Good understanding of Building regulations.
- Be able to manage your own workload.
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Word and Excel, and other related computer programs.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Full UK Driving license with the ability to attend site/tender walkthroughs covering the UK.
