About the role

The role of an Electrical Supervisor at Group Metropolitan Ltd holds significant importance as it comes with a well-defined set of duties aimed at ensuring the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.

  • Type of contract: Permanent
  • Department: Critical Services
  • Hours: 7am – 4pm (Generally, the above hours will be flexible in line with the needs of the business. We operate a fair working policy but if any extended overtime is worked by agreement of your line manager, then overtime payment will be applicable)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of operatives, including sub-contractors.
  • Raise and/or issue permits when required.
  • Complete an electrical site safety report before work commences.
  • Champion safe working practices, ensuring electrical safety rules are followed by electricians.
  • Ensure NICEIC certificates are fully completed and issued for sign-off.
  • Day to day reporting to the relevant Project Manager.
  • Inspecting and assessing work throughout the job and on completion.
  • Ensure the project deadlines are met.
  • Advise on any technical problems that operatives are faced with.
  • Visit sites to measure up and order materials.
  • Hold toolbox talks.
  • Develop a list of materials and report this into the relevant project lead to order.

Skills:

  • Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification.
  • 18th Edition Certificate.
  • AM2S Certificate.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • A UK Driving Licence.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An in-date ECS card.
  • Testing and Inspection 2391 Certificate.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and regulations/guidelines.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Timely completion of internal training.
  • Positive attitude towards work.
  • Branded uniform and PPE to be worn on all GML and client sites.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism including punctuality and reliability.
