About the Media Optimization product: The Media Optimization product is an AI-powered platform that enables media traders to deploy complex buying strategies and deliver better outcomes for our clients at scale. This platform manages hundreds of millions of media spend, utilizing proprietary algorithms developed in-house and refined over time to optimize campaign performance daily across global clients. Our ambition as a Data Science team is to extend this competitive advantage by innovating our algorithms and expanding into more digital advertising platforms.
About this role: We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to enhance our proprietary algorithms and innovate the product with the latest advances in ML/AI. Reporting to the VP of Data Science, you will join a small but growing team of Data Scientists. The ideal candidate will have a background in optimization (algorithms or related ML disciplines), strong statistical knowledge, and hands-on cloud technology experience. The role requires technical competence to learn complex systems quickly, customize source code, and develop new features from scratch. Model deployment and software development experience are highly desirable, but support from our engineering team will be available. We value team players passionate about applying Data Science to solve complex problems and drive innovation. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge challenges, improve client performance, and collaborate with experienced developers, product managers, and data scientists who have successfully built and deployed scalable, global products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve existing algorithms and develop new Data Science features
- Design and contribute to the end-to-end machine learning pipeline, including data collection, reprocessing, model training, simulation, evaluation, deployment, and testing
- Implement and interpret explainability frameworks for transparency and compliance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Conduct rigorous model testing and validation for robustness and accuracy
- Prepare documentation and reports to communicate complex model behaviors and insights
- Stay updated on academic research and industry advancements in optimization and AI/ML
- Share knowledge and support the wider team to foster innovation
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- Hands-on experience with optimization algorithms or related ML disciplines, with practical problem-solving experience using real-world data (academic research alone is not sufficient)
- Proficiency in Python (and ML frameworks) and SQL
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS or GCP)
- Exposure to model deployment and software development
- Strong statistical and machine learning knowledge
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across teams
- Team-oriented mindset
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Airflow
- Commercial software development experience
- ML Ops experience
