The Role Objective

The main purpose of the role is to report revenue in an accurate and timely manner for reporting to both GroupM management and WPP group (EMEA). This requires detailed variance analysis and exception reporting and liaising with various commercial and business heads.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the month-end reporting process from start to finish, meeting deadlines and providing commentary on variances against forecast
  • Compile and report the monthly revenue recognised on each client
  • Investigate any variances between forecasted and actual revenue reported on a monthly basis
  • Provide support and back-up to Client Leads and Commercial Team
  • Managing monthly Revenue postings, net sales, and billings commentaries
  • Reviewing accruals and deferred income
  • Providing GroupM FP&A team with the Revenue Forecast and Budget submissions, along with full commentary
  • Monthly Revenue Balance sheet Reconciliations for Accrued/deferred income
  • Coordinating and collating the monthly business forecast from client leadership team and product specialists
  • Supplying management information (MI) and insight to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Reviewing our Revenue Controls and SOX compliance
  • Understanding clients and the terms under which they operate, including remuneration structures
  • Managing Internal Audits, External Audits, and Client Audits
  • Management and control of Client Reconciliation
  • Working with the commercial teams to ensure fees and cost are charged correctly
  • Ensuring intercompany transactions are completed with relevant PO’s and approvals
  • Provide key revenue reports to the Group Finance Director and other key stakeholders
  • Hold monthly revenue reviews with senior management
  • Liaise with EMEA to resolve reporting queries
  • Submit commentaries to EMEA on a monthly basis
  • Deal with EMEA’s new reporting requirements
  • Prepare and submit quarterly packages
  • Prepare and submit the year-end packages
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and SOX requirements
  • Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements to allow better control or improved efficiencies
  • Ad hoc projects as directed by senior management

Skills and Behaviours

  • Desirable Experience working with DDS / Media Ocean
  • Experience working with Cartesis / BFC
  • Essential Intermediate / advance level of Excel (knowledge of sumIFs, sumIF, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP is essential)
  • Media revenue experience
  • Organized with good attention to detail
  • Quick to learn and adaptable to changing work allocation and able to prioritize workload to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
