Lotus Cars Limited is the UK manufacturing site producing models such as the Emira and Evija. To elevate our company, we are seeking a Head of Legal to join our Legal Department at our Hethel manufacturing plant.

Summary:

This key role, as part of the Lotus Cars Limited Senior Management Team, will supervise the legal team and lead legal advice on various issues, including risk management and legislative compliance.

The successful candidate will oversee legal services such as regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, litigation, and employment matters.

What you\’ll do:

  • Advise on a broad legal framework, including regulatory compliance, contracts, IP, litigation, financing, data protection, and cross-border transactions, minimizing risks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and investment contracts, assessing associated risks.
  • Support projects with government policies and law enforcement requests, handling legal challenges with agencies and regulators.
  • Identify legal issues or risks and resolve them effectively with senior management.
  • Provide legal support to senior management as needed.
  • Assist with corporate secretarial duties where necessary.
  • Supervise the legal team, offering guidance and support.
  • Manage external and internal legal resources, ensuring appropriate controls and processes.

What you\’ll bring:

  • Extensive post-qualification legal experience, preferably in automotive.
  • A Law Degree and relevant qualifications.
  • Strong litigation and dispute resolution background.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex legal issues for non-legal audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and internationally is highly desirable.
