Lotus Cars Limited is the UK manufacturing site of Lotus, where we produce all types of sports cars, including the Emira and Evija . To drive the company forward and achieve our ambitions, we are looking for a Head of Accounting to join our Finance Department at our manufacturing plant in Hethel .

Summary

The Head of Accounting is responsible for ensuring that Statutory and Management Accounts are accurately prepared and reported to all stakeholders. They will oversee Balance Sheet control and accuracy, ensuring all Finance Business Units comply with statutory requirements, Geely Group reporting, audits, and group consolidation.

They will also be responsible for tax preparation and compliance, including but not limited to RDEC, VAT, and intercompany transactions, ensuring the organisation’s Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) has full confidence in the financial controls in place.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage team members and financial systems while driving change to establish effective business processes. They will develop strong working relationships across the finance community and the wider Lotus business.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the integrity of financial results in line with group policies and international GAAP, both internally and externally reported.
  • Provide technical support and manage internal and external audits.
  • Develop, review, and continuously improve the financial control framework.
  • Maintain and enhance financial systems to simplify processing and strengthen controls.
  • Drive efficiency improvements in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Manage and develop a team of 15+, including 3 direct reports across AP & AR, Accounting, and Tax.
  • Document and maintain finance processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of SAP.

What You’ll Bring

  • A proactive approach, taking ownership of the organisation’s financial management as part of the senior finance team.
  • Strong collaboration with all Finance team members to support statutory financial reporting.
  • Work closely with senior business leaders, particularly in Purchasing and Logistics, to improve organisation-wide processes and ensure compliance during audits.
  • Lead interactions with internal and external auditors.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other tax authorities on compliance matters.
