Lotus Cars builds world-class, high-performance and lightweight sports cars that are sold all around the world. To bring the company to the level we want it to be, we are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join us in our Global Commercial site based in Coventry.
Summary
This role requires a fluent Mandarin speaker to effectively support product marketing activities, particularly in relation to Chinese market requirements, stakeholders, and customer insights. The position will play a key role in bridging global product strategy with local market execution, ensuring alignment with Chinese market expectations and business objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead market and competitor analysis with a strong focus on China and Mandarin‑speaking markets, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Support the development of mid‑to‑long‑term product strategy, including product portfolio planning, brand positioning, and market entry strategy for China.
- Take ownership of product positioning for new vehicle programmes, ensuring technical features and benefits are accurately interpreted and effectively localised for Mandarin‑speaking audiences.
- Develop and implement localised product adaptation plans, ensuring alignment with regional customer needs, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.
- Translate product positioning and key selling points into customer‑centric, scenario‑based messaging tailored to Mandarin‑speaking markets.
- Create compelling sales narratives and marketing content in Mandarin, ensuring clarity, cultural relevance, and impact.
- Define and manage vehicle configuration strategy, adapting pricing and commercial policies based on cost structures, competitor benchmarks, and demand elasticity within the Chinese market.
- Support new product business case development, including market sizing and demand forecasting (China focus), sales volume planning, financial modelling and profitability analysis, and ROI evaluation.
- Act as a key liaison with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders, including internal teams, partners, and suppliers.
Key Requirements
- Fluent Mandarin (essential) – both written and spoken, with the ability to operate professionally in a business environment.
- Experience in the automotive industry, with experience in new energy vehicle (NEV) product planning, product management, and strategy consulting.
- Experience working on full vehicle programmes (0‑1 lifecycle) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
- Proven experience in market analysis, customer insight generation, and data‑driven decision making.
- Ability to work across cross‑cultural teams and manage stakeholders in both local and international markets.
