Groundwork is the community charity with the green heart. We are recruiting for a: Temporary Delivery and Collections Driver & Warehouse Operative
37 hours (flexibility required)
Salary meets minimum wage
Based in Rhymney, Caerphilly
The ideal candidate will need to:
- Hold a current full, clean driving licence, suitable to drive vehicles up to 3.5T (Class II). Previous experience and good track record of driving large vehicles
- Have the physical fitness appropriate to handle bulky household furniture on a daily basis, safely and within health and safety guidelines
- Have friendly manners and good communication skills
- Have a careful and methodical approach to your work
- Have the ability to work out the most effective way to load items
- Have an honest and responsible attitude to other people\’s property
- Have the ability to read maps and follow directions
- A clean DBS check will be required for this role
A good knowledge of the Caerphilly County Borough and surrounding areas and experience supervising others involved in deliveries and collections is desirable for this role.
Key elements of the role are to deliver and collect goods to/from customer homes/properties, load and unload vehicles securely and safely to avoid damage of goods, plan delivery and collection routes to maximise efficiency to our service. Supervisory experience is desirable for this role as you need to ensure that all work carried out directly and through the supervision of volunteers is conducted in accordance with the company\’s Health and Safety, risk management and safe working practices.
The role is demanding and rewarding, working for a social enterprise, within a leading regeneration charity.
This role is urgently needed to cover absence. Candidates will need to be available to start as soon as possible.
