As part of our Marketing Team, you will be supporting projects across the Groundwork Yorkshire trust. This post is offered on a fixed-term maternity cover basis, ideally starting in March 2025.
We are looking for a confident Social Media & Marketing Officer to publicise Groundwork across Yorkshire, to help build the profile, awareness and understanding of Groundwork projects and services with key audiences. You will be a content creation expert: experienced planning, sourcing, writing, implementing and managing engaging content across a variety of online platforms.
This is a small team, and we are looking for a well-rounded candidate with a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for social media.
As Social Media & Marketing Officer, you’ll be our organisation’s first point of contact with our online communities as our brand ambassador. You’ll be responsible for thinking up and delivering compelling and creative social media campaigns and daily activity that builds brand visibility. You will be responsible for driving authentic conversations in line with our brand tone of voice to help us foster and build strong relationships with our followers, key partners/funders and customers online to drive an increase in engagement and revenue. You will be confident generating exciting, compelling content that "tells the story" of our varied projects and their shares their impact., Manage our social media channels to proactively source, produce and implement innovative content and generate quality video, photography and digital assets. You will actively monitor messages and comments across all platforms, responding in a timely and professional manner.
You will identify key national awareness campaigns and be able to plan and implement campaigns that support Groundwork’s values.
You will design and produce marketing materials, in collaboration with colleagues.
Ensure brand consistency across all marketing services and materials and throughout the trust, using national brand guidelines; you will monitor the creation of all new marketing materials and work with colleagues to provide templates and support where necessary.
Provide day to day social media support for colleagues; proactively driving the use of social media. You will help colleagues to write impactful social media posts about their projects and case studies, take quality photos, write stand-out articles and produce professional digital assets.
Support the Green Doctor service with social media and marketing including the planning and implementation of our annual winter marketing campaign.
Collaboratively produce Groundwork’s annual impact report, showcasing successes over the previous 12 months. You will be confident and proactive in planning, gathering content from teams and designing to a high-quality using design tools such as Canva.
Understanding insights and analytics data. You will track progress and provide monitoring reports each month.
Using design tools such as Canva to produce graphics, branded templates and other marketing materials for a range of projects and uses.
Produce monthly staff newsletters and social media reports.

How many years of proven experience in a social media role, either in house or agency side do you have?

Do you possess experience of copywriting, creating graphics and scheduling on message content across Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn at a consistent level with the brand at its heart>
Experience:
- Social media management: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:

Degree in Marketing or equivalent field? (preferred)
