Heavy Weight Freight is seeking experienced, safety-focused CDL Class A drivers for an Over-the-Road (OTR) position operating under full FMCSA regulations. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position with starting pay from $1,800+ per week for qualified drivers who meet strict safety and compliance standards.

- Operate in full compliance with:
- 49 CFR Part 383 (CDL Standards)
- 49 CFR Part 391 (Driver Qualifications)
- 49 CFR Part 395 (Hours of Service)
- 49 CFR Part 396 (Inspection & Maintenance)
- 49 CFR Part 382 (Drug & Alcohol Testing)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (STRICT – NO EXCEPTIONS)
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Valid CDL Class A
- No accidents within the past 5 years
- No moving violations
- No DUI / DWI
- Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Card
- Minimum verifiable CDL experience preferred
- Must pass:
- Pre-employment drug screening
- FMCSA Clearinghouse query
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
- PSP (Pre-Employment Screening Program) review
- Background screening (as permitted by law)
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate semi-truck safely and legally
- Maintain full compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Properly use and maintain ELD system
- Follow Hours of Service (HOS) rules
- Conduct and document:
- Pre-trip inspections (49 CFR 396.13)
- Post-trip inspections (49 CFR 396.11)
- Report violations or roadside inspections within 24 hours
- Maintain clean equipment
- Safely secure cargo
- Turn in BOLs and required paperwork on time
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and brokers
