Our modern café is the perfect place to fuel up before or relax after a day of exploring. From hearty breakfasts and seasonal lunches to delicious home-bakes, all made with locally sourced ingredients, there’s something to suit all tastes. About the Role We're looking for a talented Lead Chef to join our café at the beautiful Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre in Winlaton Mill. This is more than just a kitchen role. What You'll Be Doing As our Lead Chef, you'll be at the heart of the café operation, leading the kitchen and ensuring every dish meets the highest standards. From creating seasonal menus and preparing fresh food to managing stock, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting your team, no two days will be the same. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop new food offerings, and help grow the reputation of our café as a destination in its own right. What We're Looking For You'll be a talented chef with previous experience leading or managing a kitchen, along with: * A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality food * Strong leadership and team-building skills * Experience with menu planning and food cost management * Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards * A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a busy environment * Great organisational skills and attention to detail Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in what they do, and wants to be part of something special.
