Salary: £28,000 – £28,500 per annum (£13.46 – £13.70 per hour), dependent on skills & experience. Permanent contract.
About Grounds Care Group: We carry out grounds maintenance, landscape improvement works, bulk waste removal, Japanese Knotweed treatments, gritting/snow clearance and winter maintenance services for multiple clients across the UK. Our work covers grass cutting, strimming, shrub, bed and hedge maintenance, leaf clearance, planting, turfing, gritting and snow clearance. It is likely that no two days will be the same. The role requires general grounds maintenance using hand tools and powered horticultural machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all works allocated to the team are completed within the timescales given and to a high standard.
- Ensure all machinery is well looked after and maintained.
- Manage your team to ensure that all members know what is expected of them in their role.
- Understand the needs of each site/client and communicate this within the team.
- Be proactive in looking forward along the work schedule to be aware of upcoming works and specific needs.
- Suggest recommendations for the site and additional works.
- Maintain excellent understanding of mobile applications.
- Apply health & safety principles; ensure all tasks comply with company risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Carry out all work in accordance with company policies, standards and values.
- Deliver work professionally and to the highest possible standard.
Requirements / Essential Skills:
- Previous experience working in grounds maintenance.
- PA1 / PA6 certificates.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Team player with initiative.
- Enhanced DBS check and 2 satisfactory work references.
- Ability to adapt at Fairness in Recruitment, with reasonable adjustments if required.
