Groundforce Shorco (GFS) are currently looking to add to our technical shoring team through the appointment of a Graduate Civil Engineer. This is a chance to join a collaborative team, completing temporary works designs using our vast range of proprietary equipment. You will report directly to the Design Manager, who will oversee your workload, training and development. You will work directly with those in your team as well as your peers in the wider technical department.
Key Responsibilities

Producing preliminary and construction stage designs in a timely manner in accordance with approved codes of practice and legislation (CIRIA publications, BS5950, Eurocode 3 and 7). These will predominately be shoring (ground support) temporary works designs

Producing design drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD & Revit

Assist with the workload of the other technical teams as required

Liaise and Collaborate with our sales and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery within time and budget constraints

Helping support in the production of new tools and software for the technical team to drive efficiencies and save time

Helping to maintain and update Groundforce’s online suite of design tools
You will have graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering (Bsc, BEng or MEng, 2:1 or above) or similar discipline
You will have studied, or have experience of:

Engineering mathematics (Required)

Geotechnics, including Rankine’s Theory (Required)

Structural steel design including simple beam mechanics (Required)

Eurocode 3 and 7 (Desirable)

Retaining wall design (Desirable)

Structural and stress mechanics (Desirable)
