Senior Associate (Business Management)

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the management of a small portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for ensuring their bookkeeping, management reporting, statutory accounts and any ad-hoc tasks are prepared to a high standard and on a timely basis
• Preparation of management accounts and reports
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Working with the client managers to understand the client’s requirements and identifying areas where more detailed advice may be required
• Identify opportunities for any additional services that clients may need and liaise with subject specialists
• Supporting junior members of staff with their training, including reviewing their bookkeeping
• Preparation of billing proposals

Attributes, Requirements, Skills:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Accountancy practice
• ICAEW/ ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or qualified by experience
• Committed to maintaining their technical knowledge to a high level
• Competent in using MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Competent using Xero and accounting software such as Iris or similar
• Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
• Good people and communication skills (including telephone manner)
• Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
• Ability to work within a team and to be able to complete tasks independently with little assistance
• Demonstrates excellent analytical and research skills
• Experience with reviewing work
• Cashflow forecasting, tax management and budgetary control experience preferable
• Sales invoicing and credit control experience preferableExposure to billing and understanding of commerciality
