The Mobilization Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the transition of new projects, contracts, sites, or operations from award/approval to full operational readiness. This role ensures that all people, processes, systems, assets, and compliance requirements are in place so services can commence safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed mobilization plans, timelines, and checklists for new projects or sites.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (operations, HR, procurement, IT, HSE, finance, etc.) to deliver all mobilization activities.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff required for go-live.
  • Manage procurement and deployment of equipment, materials, vehicles, and facilities.
  • Ensure all legal, contractual, regulatory, and client-specific requirements are met before start-up.
  • Establish operational processes, SOPs, reporting structures, and communication channels.
  • Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to provide progress updates and manage expectations.
  • Identify risks and issues during mobilization and implement mitigation plans.
  • Control mobilization budgets and track costs against forecasts.
  • Lead site readiness reviews and final handover to steady-state operations teams.
  • Capture lessons learned and update mobilization standards and templates.
  • Maintain a live mobilisation risk and issues register to ensure early visibility and escalation.
  • Mobilise all technology and systems required for successful contract delivery, including digital platforms, reporting tools, and operational systems.
  • Handover to Operations - ensure the operations team receives a complete and accurate handover pack, including (but not limited to) contractual specifications, KPIs, operational plans, and budgets.
  • Scope Creep - identify any scope creep early and escalate promptly to both the commercial and operational teams to protect delivery and margin.
  • Subcontractor Management - ensure all subcontractor services mobilised align with commercially agreed pricing, scope, and specification.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in project or operations mobilization, transitions, or start-ups.
  • Strong project management skills; PMP/PRINCE2 or similar certification is an advantage.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Knowledge of HSE, quality, and compliance requirements relevant to the industry.
