My Client, a dynamic, family-owned manufacturing business with a £75m turnover, known for operational excellence and strong supplier partnerships, is on a journey of growth and modernization and are making their first strategic investment in a dedicated procurement function. They are seeking a commercially minded Procurement Manager to lead this transformative journey. This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead a procurement function from the ground up. You will bring strategic structure, cost savings, and best practices to their purchasing operations while maintaining their agile and entrepreneurial culture. With over 300 suppliers and £18m in spend under management, your impact will be substantial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess current supplier arrangements across various categories.
- Develop and maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships to support cost-saving and value-driven initiatives.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contractual improvements to deliver measurable value.
- Implement procurement best practices and long-term sourcing strategies.
- Promote company values: Teamwork, Integrity, Empathy, Respect, and Accountability.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive procurement experience across products and services - particular specialism with indirects will be useful.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and commercial value.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Resilient, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
- Substantial UK manufacturing experience as a Buyer/Procurement Manager.
- CIPS qualification (or at final stage of completion).
- The right to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not on offer).
