An established and highly respected organisation within the civil engineering and construction sector is looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant to provide trusted, high-level support to the Managing Director and assist the wider board. This is a pivotal role for an experienced EA who thrives at senior level and enjoys being the right-hand support to a Managing Director. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth, efficient running of day-to-day executive activity, acting as a central point of coordination and communication across the business.

The role:
- Providing confidential, proactive, and highly organised executive support, including full EA support to the Managing Director, handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Managing a complex and ever-changing diary, ensuring priorities are balanced effectively.
- Acting as a key liaison between the MD and internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparing, editing, and coordinating board papers, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Organising meetings, travel, and events, including agendas and follow-up actions.
- Proactively managing inboxes, filtering and responding where appropriate.
- Supporting governance requirements, including board and leadership meetings.
- Anticipating issues, solving problems independently, and keeping the MD fully informed.
- Building strong working relationships across the organisation to support effective communication.
About you:
- Proven experience as an Executive Assistant supporting a senior executive (MD, CEO, or Executive Director).
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging at senior level.
- A high degree of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- The ability to work independently while remaining a trusted and dependable partner.
