We are looking for a motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary department at Grosvenor House Suites! As a Sous Chef you will work alongside the Executive Chef to achieve the highest standards of food production and customer service. You will be responsible under the supervision of the Executive Chef, and in his absence, for the production, control, and issue of all food items in the kitchen in accordance with Company and Hotel policies, procedures, standards, and to meet customer satisfaction.

Your main duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting the Executive Chef in writing standard recipes which allow the restaurant to run at an acceptable food cost.
  • Assisting the Executive Chef in minimising payroll costs by maximising productivity and efficient scheduling of employees.
  • Monitoring all kitchen operation costs and taking corrective action where necessary to reduce expenses in liaison with the Executive Chef.
  • Supporting the other Executive Chef in their day-to-day tasks.
  • Assisting the Executive Chef in developing menus and specials which meet the needs of the customers.
  • Assisting in writing and updating the relevant section/s of the Departmental Operations Manual.

About you:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • 5 Star Hotel Experience.
  • Basic Food Hygiene qualification NVQL2 food preparation or equivalent.
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional.
